The Gateway to the Isles
Oban Distillery is situated beneath a steep cliff on the West Coast of Scotland in the fishing town of Oban. The town was grew around the distillery, highlighting the economic importance of whisky production back in the day. Built in 1793 makes it one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland.
The malt produced here is still in the same unhurried, traditional fashion and embodies the salty coastal surrounds of Oban Distillery itself.
Despite the peated elegance of this malt, it is brilliantly smooth. Overall a true classic and great for lovers of lightly smoked, fresh malts.
Awards
It won a gold medal at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and 94 points at the 2019 Ultimate Spirits Challenge. It also won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2022!
